Spring Play Poster (2015)

Midsummer/Jersey, Godwin's spring play is set in contemporary New Jersey where the hair is big, the voices are loud, and teenage hormones rage. A retelling of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream, the play begins with seventeen year old Mia demanding that the Governor of Jersey allow her and her sweetheart Lyle to marry. Too bad Mia is too young and the object of another boy's affection. With the governor's wedding day fast approaching, will Mia and Lyle find a way to marry too? When mischievous fairies enter the scene is their relationship doomed?

Tickets for the play cost $8 for adults and $5 dollars for students. Play performances will take place Thursday, April 23rd and Friday, April 24th at 7:00pm in the high school auditorium. Lastly, this play, much like Shakespeare's original, contains references to a character-turned-donkey that might not be appropriate for young children. Mild language is used.
